"But if I'm God then who is he?" She questioned the black mirror in her palm. The winds shook the limbs of the tree of knowledge as she received an answer.
"He can't be me, I'm me!" She shouted.
"I'm me!" The voice rang out again.
"I'm me." I looked down at the black mirror. It showed only my reflection. I was alone. Had I always been alone?
Throwing the mirror aside and quickly plucking another from the tree above me, I found it show to the same desperate reflection. An image of an entity unaware of it's identity. I grabbed another mirror from the tree, then another. Each time disappointed by the reflection that seemed to almost be spitting in my face.
I scoured the garden for answers. There was nothing but an empty expanse and the slight whispers of a drifting breeze. "Not again." I thought. An eternity of loneliness surrounded me. I closed my eyes and imagined someone, something, anything to fill the void.
The mirror vibrated in my hand. Suddenly all of the black mirrors began to vibrate and illuminate. "This will turn your every thought into reality." I recalled what an ageless voice had once said to me. What had I done?...
