Most everyone has a soft spot in their heart for teachers. Many believe teachers should be paid more. Why aren't teachers earning higher salaries? One reason is because public education is now much more than simply reading, writing, and arithmetic. School districts are hiring more administrators, counselors, and other categories of employees in non-teacher roles.
