The first Bishop of Rome or Pope, viz. Simon Peter the Apostle (Shimʿon Kepha), was a Kabbalist Rabbi in the Roman province of Judæa early in the 1st century. Peter was granted authority by the Sages of the Second Temple to enact his idea to subvert the Roman Empire. Rabbi Simon Peter became the top leader of early Christianity together with Paul the Apostle (Rabbi Saul of Tarsus, who studied at the feet of Gamaliel, the Chief Pharisee of the Sanhedrin).
