The Robert A. Grimm Children’s Pavilion for Emergency Services at Memorial Hospital will open its doors at 7:00am to pediatric patients on Thursday, September 21, 2017. The Children’s Pavilion is the only dedicated pediatric emergency department between Los Angeles and Madera.  The 5,000 square foot emergency room, the latest addition to Pediatric Services at Memorial Hospital, will offer care for infants through age 13 and will be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  The Robert A. Grimm Children’s Pavilion for Emergency Services is located adjacent to the hospital’s existing emergency room and features separate waiting and treatment areas in a kid-friendly environment. Valet parking is available from 8:00am to 5:30pm as well as an online waiting service, InQuicker, that allows parents to select an estimated arrival time and wait in the comfort of their homes. “Everything is designed with the child in mind,” says Jenny Wilson, director of emergency services for Dignity Health Memorial Hospital. “We want to make it a positive experience so kids aren’t afraid or anxious.” The medical needs of children are unique. That’s why all pediatric patients visiting the Children’s Pavilion will be seen by doctors and nurses specially trained in pediatric medicine. The Pavilion also has a Child Life Specialist to provide emotional support to children and their parents.
