Visitors To Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park Will Notice New Signs Along The Trails

Visitors to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore will be noticing some new signs around the park, helping visitors to become more “Bear Aware”, with the uptick in bear sightings.

The signs alert visitors that they are entering areas of potential bear activity, and share information about what to know when visiting bear habitat.

Black bears are the only species of bear in Michigan, and are mostly found in the Upper Peninsula and Northern Lower Michigan.
