You can train your dogs to not chase and kill livestock it’s easier than you think

It IS possible to have your dogs exist around your livestock, cats, chickens, and other small animals. Even if they have a strong prey drive.

Both of our dogs (a working line GSD and a Belgian Malinois) have both learned not to chase our chickens and in fact, they actually protect them now from predators while they free roam.

It’s not an overly complicated process, but you do need to give you dog VERY clear information that chasing without permission is not acceptable.

Ironically enough, these dogs will chase wild birds if we give them permission to do it.

Drive can be put on a switch. Turn it on or off, when you want, and you have the ultimate control and relationship with your dog.
