October 9th Council Meeting Recap
• Mainstage turned 35 in July and it was celebrated.
o Pumpkin Fest started in 1993 by the blackwood west redevelopment corporation.
o Mainstage isn’t about creating artists. It’s about giving kids a chance.

E-Gov
o Dena asks about township employees right to support opposing candidates.
o Dena also asks about making the township more inclusive. We celebrate Hispanic heritage month, but not Italian American month?
 Perhaps we start a cultural festival and celebrate them all
 These celebrations take away from the start times of our council meetings.
o Giselle Brown found a flyer on her car after the last council meeting she attended and is very scared.
o Council President responds to finding flyers on parked cars.
o Denise Coyne follows up about the flyer situation
• Denise Coyne asks for an update on the Master plan and the use of Area in need of rehabilitation.
o This should be addressed in November\December.
• Kim Carfagno asks about a troubled house with squatters, prostitutes, drugs, guns and there’s also condoms everywhere.
o The Chief is aware of this house and has been working with the community to start a watch program. His hands are tied when it comes to evictions.
o Ms. Grace gave a ton of useless advice to help Ms. Carfagno.
• Dena Hendry reads off the part of the Faulkner Act that outlines a council presidents job and asks Mercado if he feels he fills that role properly.
