A lot of unknowns’: IDF doctor discusses ‘tense’ scenes in northern Israel

Israeli Doctor Simon Nothman has spoken about the situation in northern Israel after his battalion was called up to serve.

“It’s very tense – there’s a lot of unknowns,” Dr Nothman told Sky News Australia.

He said his battalion is involved in search and rescue missions from the rubble of destroyed buildings.

“As has been evident, one of the main modes of operation of Hamas and Hezbollah is through the use of rockets and missiles and one of the fears is that there will be mass casualties from collapse of buildings.

“The role of my group particularly as a medical professional within that is to reduce the loss of life from such scenarios.”
