Part 1: Building hyperadobe hybrid isometric dome

This week we we have finished the outside of Garth’s hyper adobe geometric dome house. Come along for the journey of how it started to where we are now. There will likely be a follow up for how the inside turns out: stay tuned.

Started helping with this project earlier this year, the house foundation is stabilized hyperadobe rammed earth. The top layers have more cement to help fasten the steel dome frame to the bag work. The steel frame is then covered and sprayed with closed cell foam, and then painted with an elastomeric roofing paint. The inside will be sprayed with open cell foam to increase the R value as more insulation.
