Netflix's live-action reboot of Avatar: The Last Airbender is finally on the way, but it is arriving much later than it should be, coming four years too late. Avatar first kicked off on Nickelodeon in 2005, following the adventures of the young Avatar Aang as he masters the art of bending the elements of air, water, earth, and fire. With the Fire Nation launching a conquest of the Four Nations, Aang and his friends Katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki team-up to end the war, eventually aided by the Fire Prince Zuko.

Netflix first announced the development of a new live-action Avatar series in 2018, with a new teaser for the series released for the platform's TUDUM event. The teaser also reveals that Netflix's live-action adaptation of The Last Airbender will officially debut sometime in 2024. While this finally gives the long-awaited new take on Avatar a release timeframe, it is, unfortunately, further off than anticipated. This also adds to a number of other difficulties that Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender has experienced, but which it can hopefully overcome.
