Early Bird Collects Roosters

John Ristich has a collection to crow about. He started gather roosters a few years ago and now his flock fills every corner of his Lackawanna Restaurant. There's a rooster on the backdoor and one on the front. The birds are roosting on top of the fridge, the milkshake machine and the cash register. There is rooster artwork and rooster signs. It may not be that unusual to find a collection like this when you consider the name of the restaurant is "Roosters". John says his nickname is "rooster". He came by that name because "I used to get up early and deliver the Courier Express." These days customers bring new birds at a rate of about two a week. Still an early riser, John is up by three A.M. at work by four and opening things up for breakfast by five A.M. Rooster's Cafe is at 93 Ridge Rd, Lackawanna, NY 14218
