We are so fortunate to be joined by internationally recognized human rights activist, journalist, and political analyst Bassem Eid from his home in East Jerusalem on the stream today. Bassem is a Palestinian and spent the first 33 years of his life living in a United Nations refugee camp in Shuafat. For longer than I’ve been alive, he’s spent his career as an internationally recognized & renowned human rights expert, activist, and journalist. Bassem speaks all over the world about Palestine, Arab Israelis (which are rarely covered by the Western media), and inspirational stories of everyday Israelis and Palestinians living in true coexistence and peace. He is desperately trying to give a voice to Palestinians who feel ENTIRELY misrepresented by Western media, college campuses, social media, and more.

Early this morning, I sat down with Bassem, currently at his home in Jerusalem, for a powerful interview about what the Western World is fundamentally missing about this conflict and what we MUST know moving forward.

In no uncertain terms, the message he wants the world to know is this: to stand for Israelis, to stand for Palestinians, to stand for humanity — the world must unite against Hamas and against terrorism.
