Augustin wrote "The City of God" in 426 CE. It became the Magnum Opus of Christendom in terms of Philosophical thought. Pagans blamed the Fall of Rome on Christianity; somewhat, Rome was crumbling from within for centuries. The City of God juxtaposes the City of Man with God's Eternal Kingdom. Luther concretized the term "Man Curved in on himself" and "Homo incurvatus in se," imprinted with the Imago Dei - but worshipping the self.
