4C works with homeless families to find childcare they need to rebuild their lives
Desiree Bagley loves her children and considers herself a protective mom. So when it came time to find childcare for her 2-year-old daughter after moving to Cincinnati and becoming homeless, it was stressful. “You want to put them in daycare because you want to make a living, but then you also stress about the right daycare,” she said. “It’s really nerve-wracking.” Fortunately for Bagley, a partnership between 4C for Children and Bethany House Services helped her find the childcare she needed to get her family’s life back on track. Helping families find quality childcare is nothing new for 4C -- the nonprofit organization has been doing that since the 1980s. But 4C launched a special program last June to help families experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. In its first year of operation, 4C helped a total of 100 families that fit that description and is continuing to help more each month.
