The Amazon has been in a drought for a while but the drought continuing has brought river water levels to dangerous lows. Fish people use for food are dying. Fresh water sources are drying up. River transportation is becoming limited, and this is how these people have lived for eons. So for the inhabitants of the Amazon, this is an emergency situation the government is starting to address.
