HORRIFYING MOMENT A BLOODIED MAN SLIDES INTO 20 FT ‘CENTRAL VOID’ OF THE 9/11 REFLECTING POOL

Shocking video footage has captured the terrifying moment a man slid into the 20ft 'central void' of the 9/11 reflecting pool memorial in New York City after he threw himself 30ft into the basin - he has since been arrested and charged.

The man, who was identified as Jeffrey Hernandez, 33, lay facedown by the edge of the abyss, peering over. He then slid himself forward, falling headfirst down to the bottom of the void on Monday afternoon, October 9 2023 ..

He had already sustained an injury after he hurled himself 30ft into the basin of the memorial in front of horrified onlookers. Disturbing video footage of the bizarre event shows the man with a gash on his head, which is filling the water with blood. He was taken to the hospital with a leg injury and treated.

An NYPD detective confirmed that after Hernandez was treated, he was then arrested. Hernandez, a New Yorker living on Pearl Street in Manhattan, was charged with criminal mischief.
