Swimming In A Cold River: A Chilly Way To Get Wet! | Vancity Adventure

Now that Spring has returned, I wanted to get ready for the months ahead. Instead of the contrary, I want to feel the strength of the cold this spring. I believed that the ideal approach to start this Spring/Summer was with a little dip in some ice-cold water to truly experience what it is like to be chilly. Almost to a ritual. The ice swim came to represent my will not to succumb to the cold.

I'll make an effort to do this frequently this year. Because ice swimming has the most incredible impact on our body and psyche. The times I went swimming in freezing cold water made me feel more alive than I've ever felt in my entire life. It is comparable to giving your body a jump start.
