💪 Welcome to our channel, here is an exercise to help reduce muscular tension in the neck and in the back and shoulders as you sit in a car or other vehicle while it is stationary.

💪 When embarking on long drives, the extended periods of sitting can become quite uncomfortable. Even if your car boasts one of the most ergonomically designed seats, prolonged immobility inevitably leads to neck discomfort over time. The more stationary you remain, the greater the strain on your spine, affecting not just your neck but also potentially resulting in shoulder and back pain. Additionally, certain car seats lack crucial lumbar support, leaving the lower back vulnerable. Without adequate lumbar support, your entire back, shoulders, and neck lack the necessary reinforcement.

💪 Stress is another factor to contend with during driving. Subconsciously, we often clench our jaws and hold tension in our neck, arms, and shoulders when faced with stress. Strong emotions can manifest as physical symptoms, a natural response when our minds grapple with overwhelming feelings. Consequently, the stress associated with driving can contribute to the development of a stiff neck.

💪 Steps to follow:

1. Take a deep breath down into your abdomen, commonly called your tummy. As you do this feel your abdomen expanding.
2. Breathe in deeply and hold your breath.
3. Press you head gently, back against the headrest of your car seat. Do this to a point of tension, not pain. Hold this position for account of 5 seconds.
4. 4. Still holding your breath, push your shoulders downwards, allowing your rams and hands to slide downwards by your sides. Hold this position for account of 5 seconds.
5. Now, allow your breath to exhale, allowing the head, neck and shoulders to relax as you do this. Repeat this exercise as often as required.
