McCarthy speaks to reporters on his political future and Hamas attacks against Israel

Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was ousted last week after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) introduced a motion to vacate the speakership that passed with eight GOP votes and all Democrat votes.

McCarthy is not a declared candidate this time around but he has not ruled out returning as speaker if none of the candidates receive enough support to become speaker.

Outside of the candidate forum, McCarthy spoke on the Hamas attacks against Israel and confirmed that he "asked the members not to nominate me."
