Super Adventure Island (高橋名人の大冒険島 Takahashi Meijin no Daibōken Jima?, "Master Takahashi's Great Adventure Island"), "Master Takahashi's Great Adventure Island") is a side-scrolling platform game by Hudson Soft, originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992 and later re-released for the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console download service in 2011. It was the first game in the Adventure Island series available for the SNES and was released between the release dates of Adventure Island II and Adventure Island 3 for the NES. The game later received its sequel, Super Adventure Island II.
