Welcome back to the next character in My Star Wars fan story, 'Outcast.' Today, we're diving deep into the character reference sheet for Her’bert Noctrune. Now, let's talk about his physical appearance:
Her’bert stands an impressive 7 1/2 feet tall, weighing in at 250 pounds. He has striking blue eyes and dark brown hair. What sets him apart are his towering height, bulky muscles, and a distinctive goatee with a padawan braid. You'll notice he wears his hair in pigtails, a tribute to his estranged little sister. When asked about it, he simply says, 'pigtails are a blast.'
Moving on to his personality traits:
Strengths: Her’bert is a powerhouse of strength, incredibly fast in his responses and movements, yet he is the opposite in nature, as he shows a shy, and quiet nature. He's known for his kindness and mild temper, usually the last to resort to aggression, and seems to be the heart of the trio.
Weaknesses: Interestingly, he struggles with telekinetic and pushing abilities, possibly due to his unique connection with the Force. He also can let his fears overcome his ability to fully utilize the force properly.
Motivations: He's driven by the desire to protect his people working for the trading commission companies in Taris and to reunite with his missing sister Sal’bert who was separated from him when his parents passed.
Fears: Her’bert fears losing his loved ones, never finding his sister, and that his inability to use the Force properly might lead to tragedy.
Skills: Luke Skywalker himself has compared Her’bert to Obi-Wan in terms of fencing skills and defense. He possesses incredible force-enhanced physical abilities and has a knack for mining and refining, which helps him spot and value items accurately.
Now, let's delve into his backstory:
Her’bert hails from a Mining family on Taris, but he always displayed a unique connection to the Force. He instinctively channeled it into his body, giving him incredible strength and speed. His journey takes a significant turn when Kyle Katarn and Jan Or discover his abilities while investigating harsh working conditions at an ore refinery. Together, they work to expose a criminal syndicate and free the indentured workers.
Kyle encourages Her’bert to join Luke's Jedi Academy due to his natural use of the force during the investigation of the syndicate refinery. After a while at the Jedi Academy He’bert meets Jar’ed, another eccentric recruit, who helps him understand the basics of Jedi training and becomes a close friend. Later He and another rival of Jar’ed develop a plan to save their friend by using the path The ancient Jedi Revan took to regain his memories and restore peace to the galaxy of old.

Family: Her’bert is an orphan from Taris, and his sister, Sal’ Bert, remains missing.
Friends: He counts L’yel V’iege and Jar’ed Larz, both Jedi Padawans, among his closest friends.

Along the way, Her’bert will reunite with his sister and, with the help of his friends, rescue her adopted family from the remnants of the Empire.
