Defund Refund Police - Trudeau Grocery Tax
How Democrats went from defund to refund the police
A young Democratic member of Congress declared the "defund the police" movement “dead" on Thursday, and Black Democratic mayors from San Francisco to New York, Chicago to Washington, D.C., are moving to increase police budgets and end “the reign of criminals."
As violent crime surges ahead of the November midterms, President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party are toughening their talk on crime, and refunding the police only two years after some progressive activists took up the call to defund them.

There Are So Many Explosives-Laden Drones Flying Over Southern Ukraine That They’re Running Into Each Other
There was a time, not long ago, when the Ukrainian armed forces had a drone advantage over the Russians. The Ukrainians had more and better drones than the Russians did—and used them more effectively.
That has changed. “We are starting to fall behind significantly,” Ukrainian drone pilot Mykola Voroshnov told UNIAN, a Ukrainian news agency.
It’s not that the Ukrainian drone operators have given up. Over the contested town of Vuhledar in southern Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, as many as 20 small drones at a time—Russian and Ukrainian—crisscross the sky, Voroshnov said. “It's like a crossroads in India!” Collisions are common, he claimed.
Despite Russia’s war, house prices in some parts of Ukraine still rise
Property has lost value significantly in towns near the front lines, but prices in the west increased by up to 75 percent.
Anyone who wants to influence a Kelowna City Council decision must now register as a lobbyist
Anyone who wants to influence a city council decision must now register and fill out forms.
Earlier this week, Kelowna City Council approved a lobbyist registry designed to promote transparency and accountability in the city council’s decision-making process.
Under this policy, lobbyists are defined as individuals or groups, whether paid or unpaid, who communicate with a Council member to influence a Council decision.
Elected officials and public sector employees acting in their official capacity are exempt from the policy.
Trudeau must drop his grocery tax threat
Here’s political irony to ponder while you’re in line at the grocery store waiting to pay your ever-increasing bill.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he’s thinking about making groceries cheaper by imposing a new tax.
Brace yourself because there’s more irony.
The House of Commons already passed legislation that would make food less expensive. In fact, the House passed the legislation twice. But unelected senators are stalling the bill and the prime minister isn’t pushing it.
