Expedition 70 Spacewalk Preview News Conference | NASA's Upcoming Spacewalks - Oct. 6, 2023

Join us for an exclusive preview of NASA's upcoming spacewalks as part of Expedition 70! 🚀 On October 6, 2023, Dana Weigel, deputy program manager, International Space Station, Elias Myrmo, spacewalk flight director, Faruq Sabur, U.S. spacewalk 89 officer, and Sandra Fletcher, U.S. spacewalk 90 officer, discussed the exciting procedures and tasks that await NASA astronauts in space.

During the spacewalk on Oct. 12, NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara and ESA astronaut Andy Mogensen will venture outside the Quest airlock to collect samples for analysis, investigating the potential existence of microorganisms on the exterior of the orbital complex. They will also replace a high-definition camera on the station's port truss and perform vital maintenance work in preparation for future spacewalks.

On October 20, O’Hara and NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli will continue their extravehicular activities, further contributing to our exploration of space. 🌌
