Laconic Wit comes from ancient Sparta, and the short, often humorous responses the Spartans are famous for. I go over two examples of this today, one from when delegates from Samos visited the Spartan Senate, and another well known quote from Dionekies, when informed that the Persian arrows would block out the sun at Thermopylae.
