Apem Traditional Meal
Uwos can be made into flour. This flour can be used to make traditional snacks. One of the traditional snacks typical of Yogyakarta Special Region made from uwos flour is apem.
Other ingredients to make apem are coconut, coconut milk, gendhis, and tape.
Apem is very special because it is often used in traditional ceremonies in the community. The word apem is from the Arabic language Afwan or Afuwwun which means asking for forgiveness. Priyayi Jawi was careful when calling it, that's why it is called apem until now. Apem society is made to show gratitude for the blessings that have been received.
Farmers are always trying to grow crops so that the results are good by using different types of tools. Those who want to know about farming tools can go to the Indonesian Javanese Farming Museum located in Candran Hamlet, Kebonagung, Imogiri Bantul Special Region of Yogyakarta.
