Here's a basic recipe for Dal Makhani, a popular Indian dish:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole black lentils (urad dal)
- 1/4 cup red kidney beans (rajma)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
- 2 green chilies, chopped (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

1. Wash and soak the urad dal and kidney beans in water for at least 6 hours or overnight. Drain and rinse.

2. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dal and kidney beans with enough water to cover them. Add a pinch of salt and turmeric powder. Pressure cook for about 4-5 whistles or until they are soft and well-cooked.

3. In a separate pan, heat the butter. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then, add chopped onions, ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.

4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil starts to separate.

5. Add red chili powder and garam masala. Cook for a couple of minutes.

6. Add the cooked dal and kidney beans to the tomato mixture. Mix well and simmer for about 15-20 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.

7. Add cream and salt to taste. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and a dollop of butter.

Your delicious Dal Makhani is ready to be served! Enjoy it with naan, rice, or roti.
