French wife of ousted Gabonese president charged with money laundering

General Brice Oligui Nguema, a military general who assumed power last month, has been welcomed by Congo as state leaders met in the town of Oyo, and Gabon’s transitional president praised renewed ties between the two nations. Meanwhile, the wife of former president Ali Bongo, a French national, has been charged with money laundering and other crimes.

RT hears from Pierre Claver Maganga Moussavou, a former Gabonese vice president, who says the coup was beneficial for the nation overall because it put an end to corruption that had flourished under the Bongo family.
