Seattle residents, think twice before stepping onto that commuter train. Last week, a man wielding a hammer at a South Seattle light rail station, leaving two people injured. Seattle Police released new footage of the assailant in the hopes of quick identification and capture. The man, seen donning a dark blue jacket and black hat with ear flaps, seemed to target at random.

Sound Transit has tripled its security force in response to the assault, with King County sheriffs and security guards patrolling the station. However, riders point out that an increase in security doesn't necessarily equate to absolute safety, especially given that law enforcement can't be omnipresent. If you have any information about this incident, you're encouraged to call the Seattle Police detectives at 206-233-5000.
