One of the most popular dishes in Afghani cuisine !
It’s super creamy and robust in flavours
Here is my version of Super Easy Afghani chicken gravy !

Ingredients :-

For paste
Garlic cloves - 15 pods
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Onion - 2 medium
Cashew nuts - 12 pods
Green chilies - 6
Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
Curd - 1 cup

Instruction : Blend into fine paste

For the gravy

Ghee - 2 tbsp
Cloves - 4
Cardamom - 4
Cinnamon - 1/2 inch
Bay leaf - 1
Chicken - 500 grams
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Chat masala - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Kasturi methi - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Fresh cream - 1 cup

Instructions
- In a fry pan, add ghee followed by cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaf.
- Add chicken. Fry until the raw smell is gone on medium flame for 10 minutes.
- Add all the powdered spices with salt and mix well.
- Add the blended masala paste. Mix well. Cover and cook on low flame for 10 minutes.
- Add fresh cream and mix well and cook for 2 minutes .
- take out the cooked chicken pieces and shallow fry them in ghee until they turn golden.
- Add the pieces back to the gravy with some left over ghee from the pan.
- add fresh coriander and Kasturi methi.
- Serve hot with roti 🫓 rice 🍚
