South African Navy members and Simon’s Town residents paid their final respects to the three submariners who died in rough seas off Kommetjie last month.
The sound of bagpipes from the Nelson Mandela Artillery Pipes and Drums filled Jubilee Square as locals gathered at 3.30pm for the service organised by the Simon’s Town Civic Association and simonstown.com
Civic Association chairman Simon Metcalfe expressed the association’s condolences to the families of the three submariners.
