ancient Wine Discovered in Cave
In a discovery that could rewrite Italy's wine-making history, researchers have found traces of 6,000-year-old wine in a cave in Sicily. Until now, it was thought that wine developed in the region in the Middle Bronze Age, between 1300 and 1100 BC. The new findings, however, would change that date by three millennia. According to the research team, the traces were discovered to be tartaric acid and its sodium salt, which occur in grapes and the wine-making process.
