Why Americans are so Generic

There's a certain blandness with people nowadays I believe is worth commenting on. The average person appears to be really low on individuality. Why is that? After running through multiple mental scenarios, I came up with a least of reason I felt was worthy of sharing. While this Street Talk is less objective than the usual political analysis, it helps sometimes to review today's zeitgeist.
