Seattle Residents DENY Homeless & Crime Problem: See How They Responded

You'll never believe what some Seattle residents are saying about their city—apparently, it's a veritable utopia where crime is just some social experiment and everyone's always having a blast. On "The Five," host Jeanine Pirro labeled Seattle as a "progressive hellscape," only to have a handful of citizens rebuff the claim. Oh, and they didn't just disagree; they practically made a stand-up routine out of it. One person even asked whether the reported misdemeanors were "bothering" the interviewer, while he was safe and sound in his car. Another described the city as filled with "fun and laughter," as if Seattle's becoming the next Disneyland but for adults.

Fox News hosts are understandably taken aback by such blithe dismissal of real issues plaguing the Emerald City. While this counter-narrative only comes from a very small sample of three interviews, the unflappable optimism has struck a chord. It almost seems like some Seattle residents are living in a parallel universe, one where every social ill can be solved with "basic needs." Because, as we all know, a welfare check and a food stamp are the surefire way to create a utopian society.
