#Breaking 🚨- #Sad day in Niger 🇳🇪

The National Council for the Protection of the Homeland (CNSP) declared national mourning in Niger on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 following a terrorist attack which caused the death of 29
soldiers.

Combining "improvised explosive devices and kamikaze vehicles", around a hundred terrorists targeted a detachment of security forces in Tabatol near the border with Mali, the Nigerien ministry in charge of
Defense informed us. In the press release, a provisional assessment of "29 soldiers who fell as heroes, two seriously injured", was established, on the side of the Nigerien Armed Forces. On the terrorist side, the response of the Nigerien army made it possible to neutralize several dozen of them. For the fallen soldiers, the CNSP declared a three-day national mourning.

Since the military came to power on July 26, this is the heaviest death toll recorded during a terrorist attack, the most recent, in mid-August 2023, having caused 17 soldiers to fall near the border with the Burkina Faso. They said that the terrorists were aided by foreign intelligence, and Nigériens accomplices.

As a reminder, when Mali 🇲🇱 and Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 asked the French soldiers to leave, we were seeing multiple attacks on various parts of our countries. So, this doesn’t come as a surprise. So, before they leave, we could hear more of these casualties. The military leadership need to double down on their military capabilities, and the people must remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity they see. This is sad! My sincere condolences to the bereaved families!
