NASA Selects Three Finalists To Vie For $250 Million Explorer Mission

Last week, NASA announced the three finalists, whittled down from nine, vying for a 250 million dollar astrophysics mission competition. The three finalists will all receive 2 million dollars to develop a more detailed concept over the next 9 months. In 2019, NASA will select one winner to be the next mid-size Explorer mission, with an expected launch in 2022.
