The SMD VM-1 vs. typical digital readout volt meter under heavy load & fast double kick drums

I like a digital readout. Nothing against them. But if speed matters, and it might if your system is big enough, the VM-1 has never lost. There are several reasons that speed is important. You could have a bad alternator even without a big system and still have issues. The reason i bring up the bad alternator thing is that i have seen it multiple times from myself to several people. Amps shutting down and they don't know why. Turns out that quick voltage peak that doesn't seem important to know about can be enough to shut your system down if anything in it don't like 18v (for example). Very annoying. The problem quickly diagnosed with a VM-1 many times. Most amps don't like being down in the 10v range either and you might not know you are dipping that deep in the heat of a crazy demo.
