Chag Sukkot Sameach /

Note: Sukkot is celebrated with JOY for 7 days.
It is not a Jewish festival.
It’s part of the MOEDIM, Appointed Times ordained by YHWH.
MOEDIM comes from the root word, Moed/מוֹעֵד (Strong's Hebrew #4150), which means Appointed Times or Appointed Season.

The first time the word MOED was used in the Bible was in Genesis 1:14, where MOED was translated as “seasons”. God's calendar, lights in the firmament, is meant to be a marker (like a sign post) for times, seasons & His Appointed times.

I am saddened by the Hellenization of the church, which today has failed to recognize these important sign posts. The 7 MOEDIM, or Appointed Times include the 7 Feasts of the Lord. 3 of them in the Spring season:
Passover, Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits, and followed by Shavuot (or Pentecost) 50 days later.
The fall feasts include Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur and Feast of Tabernacles or Ingathering, or what we know as SUKKOT.

People make travel plans, attend birthdays, give excuses that their pets has diarrhea, their goldfish died but in essence, they fail to obey the command of YHWH in Deuteronomy
16:16, which clearly states:-

"Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God at the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths; and they are not to appear before the Lord empty-handed."

YHWH even state it very clearly in Deuteronomy 16:16 that we should NOT appear empty handed.

Take a moment to reflect on these words written in Nehemiah 8:13-18:-

13 And on the second day were gathered together the heads of fathers' houses of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to give attention to the words of the Law.
יד וַיִּמְצְאוּ, כָּתוּב בַּתּוֹרָה: אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה בְּיַד-מֹשֶׁה, אֲשֶׁר יֵשְׁבוּ בְנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּסֻּכּוֹת בֶּחָג בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִי. 14 And they found written in the Law, how that the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month;
טו וַאֲשֶׁר יַשְׁמִיעוּ, וְיַעֲבִירוּ קוֹל בְּכָל-עָרֵיהֶם וּבִירוּשָׁלִַם לֵאמֹר--צְאוּ הָהָר וְהָבִיאוּ עֲלֵי-זַיִת וַעֲלֵי-עֵץ שֶׁמֶן, וַעֲלֵי הֲדַס וַעֲלֵי תְמָרִים וַעֲלֵי עֵץ עָבֹת: לַעֲשֹׂת סֻכֹּת, כַּכָּתוּב. {פ} 15 and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying: 'Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and branches of wild olive, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.' {P}
16 So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the broad place of the water gate, and in the broad place of the gate of Ephraim.
17 And all the congregation of them that were come back out of the captivity made booths, and dwelt in the booths; for since the days of Joshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.
{פ} 18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the Law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the ordinance.

Did you notice the last few 6 words? It states that "their joy was very great".

Isn't it interesting that YHWH mandated the celebration of SUKKOT after the harvest of figs, grapes, pomegranates, olives & dates.

Yes, it may be autumn, the weather is getting cold. It's like that today, isn't it? As we wait in anticipation of Yeshua's Return, the best thing we can do besides preparing and ready our hearts is to be part of a small company of believers/EKKLESIA that celebrate the Feasts.

Speaking of JOY, and MUCH joy, as you can see (and sense with your spirit man), the JOY of YHWH was evident during our SUKKOT celebration recently on 30th Sept 2023.
Messianic Jews & Christians worship together,
and we erupted into spontaneous dancing !
HalleluYAH!

Special thanks to David HADDY, coach and mentor to our TavDance team. And thank you too to Lyn Moore for leading the Praise dance segment.
