....an overview of our water collection system....

....I've been chatting to some folk about rainwater collection, so I thought I would do a short video of our setup....it starts on the barn roof, into the guttering where there is a first flush diverter to catch the sticks and leaves....once the diverter fills up (there is a small drain hole at the bottom to empty it) the water goes in two 1000 litre IBC tanks that are linked together, this supplies the main water water pipe to our camp....there is an overflow tank connected to these two that feeds a hose pipe by our top veg beds....the blue poly pipe runs down from the first two tanks, to a tap, where it also feeds the washing machine, then the pipe runs along the fence line to our main sink by the vans, from here it continues along the fence, through the shed and up to the tap by the brassica cage....at some point there will be an extension along to the last IBC tank that we use for veg garden watering....but it isn't connected yet because the fittings are so bloody expensive....hope this shows what we've got and how it works....we filter the rain water to drink, but we don't bother filtering for washing water....
