The American Bully is a relatively new breed that was developed in Los Angeles, California in the 1990s. It is a combination of several different breeds, including American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, the English Bulldog, and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Mastiffs, American Bulldog, etc.

The American Bully was originally bred as a companion and family dog, rather than as a working/ fighting dog like its fore father and predecessor the American Pitbull terrier. This is why I feel that the American Bully is a better family dog than the true APBT can ever be. American bullys are literally destined to be family pets and family guardians. The best American Bully Breeders were looking for a dog that was friendly, loyal, and good with children, as well as one that had a strong and muscular appearance. They wanted a dog that was less aggressive than some of the other bully breeds, but still had the strength and athleticism that these breeds are known for.
I breed the best XL American Bullies on the planet at Big Gemini Kennels. It’s what I do. Each type has its own unique characteristics and physical features, but all are known for their friendly and loyal personalities.
Currently, the American Bully is not currently recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC), but it is recognized by several other organizations, including the United Kennel Club (UKC) and the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC). The breed is becoming increasingly popular as a family pet.
