Here's a recipe in written:

Ingredients:

- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 cardamom pods
- 2 cloves
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 2 cups water
- Coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

1. Begin by rinsing the basmati rice thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear. Then, soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes.

2. In a pan over medium heat, heat the oil or ghee. Add the cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, and cloves. Let these aromatic spices sizzle and release their flavors for a few seconds.

3. Add the finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté them until they turn a beautiful golden brown. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

4. Now, introduce the green peas to the pan and sauté them for 2-3 minutes. Season the mixture with salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Stir to coat the peas evenly.

5. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Mix well to combine the rice with the aromatic spices and peas.

6. Pour in 2 cups of water and bring the mixture to a boil. Once it's boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and let the rice cook for approximately 18-20 minutes. The rice should absorb all the water and become perfectly cooked.

7. Turn off the heat and allow the rice to rest for 5 minutes with the lid on to let the flavors meld.

8. After resting, fluff the rice gently with a fork and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.

9. Your flavorful Matar Pulao is now ready to be served hot. Pair it with some raita or your favorite curry for a delightful meal.

Enjoy your delicious homemade Matar Pulao!
