Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy — flanked by Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and Regional Director of Chabad-Lubavitch in Ukraine — looks on as Rabbi Raphael Rutman, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, sounds the shofar during a meeting President Zelenskyy held with more than 30 Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis and other leaders of the Jewish community in Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy expressed his wishes for a year of health and peace, a sentiment echoed in prayer by those assembled in advance of Rosh Hashanah, which begins Sept. 15 at sundown.
