WATER PROBLEM: An intrusion of saltwater from the Gulf of Mexico is creeping up the drought-stricken Mississippi River, affecting the drinking water of many, currently Louisiana, notably, New Orleans. The Mississippi River is one of the world’s most important commercial waterways and the largest U. S. drainage basin. In this video, we go into the history of how the Mississippi River was used by New Orleans and the United States’ south in general, to shaped the wealth of the United States and the world by fueling America’s Atlantic Slave Trade through its waterways.
