In this video, we’re going to talk about how to fix tight hamstrings. I’m actually going to demonstrate unique hamstring stretches that could double your flexibility with tight hamstrings. This technique can actually be used for any tight muscle in the body, but I’m going to demonstrate it on a person with tight hamstrings. This is a very unique process that you’ve probably never heard of before, but I have found it to be very effective.

If you stretch the tight muscle itself, it’s like a rubber band, you stretch it, and it will snap back even tighter. I believe stretching the tight muscle is not the right way to loosen it. You actually need to stretch the opposite muscle on the top part of the upper leg—your thigh muscle or quadricep. By stretching the top muscle, you’re sending nerve signals to the hamstring that tell it to relax.

These stretches for hamstrings can be done regularly as a part of your hamstring workouts to promote relaxation in the muscle and flexibility.
