In this video, we’re going to talk about the healthy keto diet. Is keto a high-fat diet or a low carb diet? I also want to talk about is 75% dietary fat is dangerous on keto. Let’s take a look.

The healthy keto diet is not characterized by high fat. This is because consuming lots of fat will not put you into ketosis. Instead, the healthy keto diet involves lowering your carbohydrates. This is because lowering your carbs WILL put you into ketosis.

If you keep your carbs low, you have to consume other non-carb foods, like healthy fats, proteins (in moderate amounts), and low-carb vegetables.

If your diet consists of 70-75% fat, is that unhealthy? Not if you do it right. Let’s break down these fats into real-world foods, so you understand why it’s not unhealthy.

If 75% of your calories are from fat, that equals out to 120 grams of fat per day. This is the equivalent of consuming…
- 3/4 avocado
- 2 tbs peanut butter
- 1/2 cups of almonds
- 1.5 tbs olive oil
- 1 tbs butter
- 1/4 cup pecans

These are realistic amounts of food to consume in one day.
