In this video, we’re going to talk about what to do if you’re not losing weight on keto. If you’re experiencing a weight loss stall on keto, make sure you’re getting enough sleep, minimizing stress, doing intermittent fasting, and following the correct program. Address other health issues to make sure there’s not an underlying issue preventing weight loss.
On keto, you need to eat 20 to 50 grams of carbohydrates each day. The slower your metabolism, the lower your carb intake should be. You may need to go down to 10 grams of carbs or less to fix a keto stall. Some people may also need to factor in their carbs from vegetables.
When you’re doing intermittent fasting, be mindful of the liquids you’re consuming during your fast. Cream in your coffee or consuming bulletproof coffee can kick some people out of ketosis.
If it seems keto’s not working, take a look at your fat intake. You want your body to run on its own fat. If you’re consuming too much dietary fat, you won’t tap into your body’s fat reserve.
When you decrease your carb and fat intake, make sure that you don’t develop any nutritional deficiencies. Enhance your diet with electrolytes, B vitamins, trace minerals, and fat-soluble vitamins.
Pay attention to the types of carbs you consume. Even if you’re only consuming 10 to 20 grams of carbs per day but the carbs are from juice or bread, it will cause a significant blood sugar spike, kicking you out of ketosis. Consuming alcohol can also kick you out of ketosis.
