In this video, we’re going to talk about the ketogenic diet and human genetics. Ketones are the byproduct of fat burning and are not an alternative fuel source. Ketones are a primary fuel source! Glucose or sugar is an alternative fuel source.

The human body is not designed to run on glucose, especially not 30 teaspoons of sugar per day. Our bodies were originally developed and adapted for infrequent eating and low-carb diets.

The average person who‘s not overweight has around 77,000 calories of stored fat and only 1,700 calories of stored sugar. Our body stores fat much more efficiently, so it only makes sense that fat is a superior fuel.

Many health conditions improve when people switch to a ketogenic diet. Similarly, many health conditions worsen while people are in glycolysis.
