In this video, we’re going to take a look at the difference between grass-fed beef and grass-finished beef. There’s often some confusion between these two terms.

Grass-fed beef comes from cows that are started on grass, but are typically finished on grains. Farmers finish cows on grains either because grass is not available due to the season, or because they want the cow to gain more weight before slaughter—this equals more money.

If beef is grass-finished, this means that the cow consumed grass their entire life. Grass-finished beef has more omega-3 fatty acids, CLA, vitamin E, and vitamin A.

Unfortunately, 97% of all beef sold in the US is grain-fed, factory-farmed beef. These cows are fed GMO grains like soy and corn. If you want the healthiest beef, choose grass-fed, grass-finished, pasture-raised beef.
