Capsaicin is the active ingredient in chili pepper extract that is a natural pain reliever. It’s safe to take, and it has the potential to block sensory nerve signals for pain and inflammation.

Capsaicin is good for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, neuritis (inflammation of the nerve), and neuropathy (damaged nerves). It also helps with neurological pain from, for example, shingles.

But capsaicin also helps with sinus mucus, sinus headaches, improving circulation, and allergies. For these conditions, take it orally.

For the other conditions I mentioned, take it topically. It’s very hot when applied to the skin, and when you take it orally so make sure you take it with food. Do your research to find a brand you like, and follow the dosage directions on the container.
