In this video, we’re going to talk about intermittent fasting and mental clarity. Intermittent fasting has tremendous benefits for your brain, especially the hippocampus. The hippocampus is intimately involved with memory, learning, and spatial navigation, which is the ability to locate yourself in your environment.

When you improve your hippocampus, you increase the synapses in your brain, improving your mental sharpness. You can slow down the aging process, improve memory, and sometimes improve your emotional state.

In animal studies, if the hippocampus is damaged, the animal becomes hyperactive and may have difficulty learning. It is important to avoid and repair damage to the hippocampus to improve cognitive function.

Stress leads to high levels of cortisol, which negatively affects the hippocampus. Cushing’s syndrome is a condition that is accompanied by high levels of cortisol. This condition can be very damaging to the hippocampus.

Vitamin B1 deficiency and high levels of sugar and insulin can also damage the hippocampus. Vitamin B1 is vital for your hippocampus to work properly. The best source of vitamin B1 is nutritional yeast.

Aerobic exercise is very beneficial for improving the function of your hippocampus. It's also important to keep your stress levels low.

Try intermittent fasting to improve cognitive function! Start with three meals per day and no snacking. Add more healthy fat to your diet so you can go longer in between meals.
