If you have an infant or small child, or know someone who has a baby or small child, and is feeding that child a plant-based milk such as rice milk, soy milk, almond milk, cashew milk, or any other kind, make sure to have them watch this video.

When you go to the grocery store and see all these plant-based milks, you probably think they’re really healthy. But they aren’t healthy for kids! Especially very young infants. These milks can create severe vitamin deficiencies of B1, B2, D, and A. But most problematic are the deficiencies of DHA and EPA. These two fats are essential for the health of a growing infant, especially the brain and endocrine system. They’re healthy omega 3 fatty acids.

Without sufficient DHA and EPA, your child’s growth can be retarded, especially their cognitive function. Their vision can be affected. Their retinas in their eyes, and their brain, need large amounts of DHA.

Breast milk contains over 160 different fatty acids, and is loaded with DHA and EPA. Babies need healthy fats! For all the reasons I listed, and including for proper development of their central nervous system, to prevent learning disabilities, and to support their immune system. Don’t give your baby plant-based milk!

The best solution for your infant is breast milk. If you absolutely can’t breastfeed, you can make your own formula. I recommend the one given by Weston Price, and there’s a link to the recipe below. It’s a little bit of work to make your own, but it’s worth it for a healthy alternative to plant-based milk..
